It’s stylistically beautiful, but I had to turn off all the effects to even have a chance. It’s essentially a place holder for the real game that’s not out yet.
First impressions: I should not have tried this while drunk. In many rhythm games I actually find that gives me a bit of an edge on my first pass through.
I beat the first two difficulty levels of the first song, but could not get too far into the third difficulty level. My main issue right now is that it seems I cannot remap the keys? Seeing as it’s two lanes that are on top and bottom, I want to use keys that are up and down and feel natural to me, but since I cannot remap keys in anyway that I could find, that makes it difficult. I’m sure I can eventually make left mean down and right mean up in my brain but that feels like an arbitrary difficulty milestone. I want to be challenged by the music and track map, not the controls.
I browsed through the previews of the other songs and so far I really like the music, it feels more rock/punk based. I find a lot of rhythm games I try out tend to lean towards more electronic/techno, which I am overall fine with, but I definitely jam more with rock and punk, so the track list so far has been a welcome surprise.
I’m definitely going to play this more and hopefully they add some key mapping later (or I just missed it and it’s already there).
You actually can remap them! It’s in Options>Controls>Custom>Key Bindings
I had to remap mine too. I used “4”,“R” for the high, and “K”,“M” for low
This games music is honestly the best thing about it. Right behind it is the visual style. I can’t wait to see what the real game will look like. It’s supposed to be a rhythm game RPG.
Thanks! My drunken mind definitely got the better of me there. Now that I’ve remapped the keys, the game feels great. Immediately was able to jump to hard and expert on a couple songs:
I’m really loving this game already, will definitely be picking up the full version. The controls and mechanics feel like Muse Dash, but with a soundtrack and aesthetic that I much prefer. What an awesome find, thanks!
I’m interested in checking it out. I’ll report back how it went!
