Basically the title.

Tell me about everything you hope makes the jump from Reddit to Lemmy.

There are some book/hobby communities I’m hoping make it over, as I find a lot better discussion on subreddits dedicated to a particular game vs a general gaming subreddit, for example. I’m also just hoping that the larger communities get more posts and comments

Same with music. I can’t find anything dedicated to music artists I like. Closest I’ve found is popheads but I want something like the kpop fandom but toned down. I want fan edits, discussion of music, everything.

I’m hoping for some good fight video/crazy video communities that don’t get whack a mole’d like they did on Reddit.

Also boxing. Also strange and esoteric ones, dimensional jumping, ufos, stuff like that.

Well as the creator and currently only member of a christmas community in here, obviously I had wished one already existed. But I’ll keep periodically talking to myself until others join or someone makes one that gets some traction 😂

Otherwise, as others have said it’s a matter of the more specific groups that I’m really missing. Sure there are a handful of guitar based groups, but there is no equivalent to Guitarlessons. Of course there’s also groups dedicated to specific genres and artists, as opposed to vague “music” communities. I’m sure this will slowly change as lemmy grows and I’ve considered making a few more in the hopes it attracts some more people into more niche groups eventually.
