nowadays bad horror movies are all about trying to be brooding and atmospheric, but the end result is 90 minutes of characters whispering to each other between shots of them slowly walking around or staring in the distance while generic dark ambient music plays
as much as I liked it (because they did the brooding and atmospheric thing right), I blame The Babadook for this trend
also if you’ve read this far I’m guessing you have some interest in horror movies, so please recommend some things to watch on shudder before my trial subscription ends
Idk if this is on Shudder, but I enjoyed Sinister. Rolls into the problem you described, but it did it well.
Action… Darkness Falls was pretty good. The evil tooth fairy one. Oh! Th13rteen Ghosts is my favorite!
