Halftime thoughts:
Hartman is very good. Notre Dame is lucky to have a highly experienced QB. As a Texas fan, it’s too bad he’s just about to surpass Colt McCoy in career touchdown passes.
Notre Dame’s tackling could be better, but for week 0 it’s serviceable.
Navy stood no chance. Wish Niumatololo was still coaching to make it worth watching.
The broadcast is not very good (is NBC always like this? I don’t watch many ND games). Noah Eagle and Jason Garrett are okay with their calls, but someone keeps accidentally using the telestrator. The camera work and direction in particular could be better.
End of the 1st Q thoughts:
The missed 4th down conversion by Navy was a tragedy.
Not a fan of the clock not pausing on 1st downs anymore.
Ireland is always beautiful but with the sun setting, it’s like watching the Rose Bowl.
Bud Elliot’s prediction on the Cover3 podcast of Navy being scoreless in the 1st Q comes true (the most niche lock bet I’ve ever heard).
Thank god college football is back
I’m really digging the alternate unis for both teams.
I’m not at home and I forgot to post this thread on time, my bad!
Navy has been so unlucky this game. Lots of small mistakes that are adding up. Thankfully these are fixable. Hoping they can come back and make it an interesting game
At full time:
Well, all I really have left to say is at least it wasn’t a shutout. Off to watch the UTEP @ Jax St game.
Navy with the moral victory!
