Summary

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. vowed to overhaul parts of the FDA, specifically targeting the agency’s nutrition department, which he claims “are not doing their jobs” and failing to protect public health.

Kennedy, a known opponent of vaccinations and the pharmaceutical industry, said he could “clear out” corruption in health agencies. President-elect Donald Trump has indicated he would give Kennedy significant influence over health policy, though Trump’s campaign denied he would lead HHS.

Experts and family members warn that Kennedy’s anti-vaccine stance could have serious public health repercussions.

People had no idea how good we had it. Guess we all have to learn the hard lessons again.

We’re gonna rediscover all kinds of wonderful words. Polio is a good one, too. Hey, with global warming, we ought to be able to brew up some malaria all across Trump country, right?

You know what, let’s just not have doctors. That will cut healthcare costs really fucking quick.

Why not? Bunch of liberal elites anyway. Probably Jewish or turning kids trans or something too.

Instead, for a small monthly donation, Pastor Jim can write you a prescription for Jesus! If that doesn’t work, you were a sinner anyway and God wanted you dead. Perfect system, praise be, onwards to greatness America! /S

Hey! I live in trump country, and I voted against him all 3 times as well as his down-ballot cronies.

That said, bring on the malaria. It sounds better than living in trump country.

We had one good option, one bad option, and one stupid option.

And somehow ended up with both bad and stupid.

At least back in 2016 I could forgive people for just being plain ignorant and not understanding the consequences of their votes, but this time around I really think people are just hateful racist bastards.

I think the first term was actually traumatic and we’ve spent four years trying to put it behind us, now he’s back and prepared, with the whole government at his command for at least 2 years. The long term damage is going to be atrocious in every sense of the word.

      I’m fucking heartbroken

One of the few saving Graces of this whole thing, is that I know deep down Trump is going to turn on this guy. There’s no way he keeps him around. He served his purpose and now he’s going to dump him.

A lot of Mr brain worms plans would seriously cut into the profits of major pharmaceuticals and agricultural behemoths that are major donors of Trump’s campaign. I can’t imagine them allowing trump to cut into their profits like that.

I’m not sure that vaccines are actually profitable without subsidies. They’d probably rather milk their cash cows like price-gouged insulin and trendy medications like ozempic.

Afaik profit is profit whether it’s from subsidies or sales. On top of that, the government gave them grants to develop said vaccines, so r&d was highly discounted… Production of most vaccines as way cheap compared to r&d, so I doubt there is ever any “selling for a loss”. Combine that with state mandates requiring kids to get vaccines before attending school (I’m not saying this is bad… Public health is a good thing), and you have a captive customer base.

Look I don’t know much about food science but I do know your current fda, while doing many good things over the years, let’s by a lot of shit that is illegal in Europe. Just one example is all the dyes like red 40 and yellow 5 that are banned in Europe due to their health effects. Not saying we need a complete over haul but the current fda needs to take a look at what exactly they are allowing in our foods.

I really hope all this will hunt the garbage that voted for the orange f*ck. Even if they have the IQ of a pumpkin, they may get this.
