Hurricane Hilary rapidly intensified into a Category 3 cyclone on Thursday, and forecasters said that the hurricane's path means the storm could bring "significant" impacts to Southern California and the Southwest by the weekend and into the first part of next week.
I’ll take that rain. Although this summer has been very, very mild, it’s always nice to get some rain during the dry season.
It’s projected to be upwards of a FOOT in certain mountain areas. Pretty terrible for a single day during the dry season.

Oh, for sure some places will have issues, and I don’t want to minimize that. But you have to be realistic. EVERY time it rains here it’s treated like a biblical event and there always seems to be issues.
In those certain mountain areas the rivers will be put to work. The rest of the state is expected to get 2 inches on average so it’s going to be wet but ultimately fine.
