As a car driver who’s driven in the UK and Italy, our roads and cars are capable of 150, but the various governments have spent so much money telling us that speed kills they really can’t do anything about the glacial speed we have to use to travel between centres.

Sicily is the size of Tasmania, but they have 130 zones to cross it both the short way and the long way (not that anyone actually follows the limit there, the typical driver was travelling 150 when there were no cops around).
