I have never seen that rule enforced in the dunk tank for lemmy.world. So my assumtion would be its only for federated sites but Im not a mod so its your call.
You could try to dm/ping one of the dunk tank mods if you need more advice? But I doubt leaving this up will upset anyone we as a site particularly care about.
