isn’t the left saying this is a vibes election and it doesn’t matter what her policy positions are? I could have sworn I heard that somewhere…

To clarify, Harris is being mindful of “the vibes” because it’s something her predecessors neglected. Doom and gloom does discourage turn out, on both sides, and it seems to be working. This isn’t zero sum with substance, and she has made clear some policy positions (and more at than Trump, unless you count Project 2025). You can do multiple approaches to appeal to multiple audiences.

Of course it is - the median voter seems to have all the brains of an ox - half of them still have Trump as their gender identity. People would like to think they’re better than that, but the outcomes beg to differ.

Trump’s only asset has been his vibes. He (and the GOP broadly) are an utter failure on anything of substance - their contempt for voters is clear in their policy. Problem is that his vibes are collapsing at an exponential rate.

Dems undeniably have the substance (only relatively speaking), but their contempt for voters fucks their vibes. The GOP is now so obviously unhinged they’ve seen an opportunity, and un-fucked their vibes.

Getting the job is mostly the vibes, doing the job is mostly the substance - and the current winner on both fronts is pretty fucking straightforward. It’ll still be a toss-up, sadly.

At least Harris has policy positions and a corresponding agenda. Trump has none of that, at least nothing that he could talk about in public. Did you not watch the debate? Did you not notice that he made no factual arguments whatsoever, but responded to every question on every topic with the same old empty polemics and unfounded recriminations?

I noticed that he was debating both of the moderators and Harris who also dodged all meaningful questions asked by the moderators. She’s literally the sitting VP. All of the things she’s campaigning to fix she can literally solve right now. Many of the things she is blaming trump for are problems that the Biden administration caused She had zero policy positions until last week when she put them up on her page. Almost all of her policy positions are a complete 180° turn from what she was saying as recently as 1 month ago. Are people really this incapable of thinking critically about anything ? As just 1 example: She was JUST doing press conferences saying how the economy is incredible and "bidenomics is working " but now she’s saying the economy is the worst it has been since the great depression and somehow that’s trump’s fault when it started literally as soon as her and Biden took office? This is such an insult to people’s intelligence, and yet somehow people are still eating this stuff up. do you think I don’t notice that gas is easily 2x as expensive as it was when trump was in office ? How on earth could this be his fault ? Even if it was, why can’t you fix it while you’re in office now?? I don’t think I could believe this BS if I wanted to. I think all around the debate sucked on both ends, they were essentially just taking turns calling each other liars.

Nice try troggie, but slightly imperfect policies are still better than the fucking return of Hitler.

A policy to continue supplying weapons to a genocide is not a slightly imperfect one, it is a genocidal one.
