How the heck did you read anything in my post implying I’m not giving her my full support.

Dude/tte, there’s a huge difference between being supportive and being delusional. The gambling markets are, as Nate Silver, far more accurate than polling, and as of yesterday, they have her a 40% chance of beating Trump. If we want her to win, it’s going to take a lot of work, a lot of support, and some careful campaigning on her part… and not a little luck.

This isn’t fantasy-land where you can will her to win by repeating a mantra. There’s no “handily” here. She has a lot going for her; she has a lot of challenges, too: America is still racist, misogynistic, and cultish. She’s going to come out as being pro-Israel, because there’s no way she’ll win if she doesn’t, but there’s a shitload of people who oppose the genocide who’ll be beating on her about that as soon as she clarifies her position in that first interview. There’s a bunch of people who’re going to vote for Jill Stein - and it was the Green Party voters which resulted to the first Bush Jr administration - if most of them had voted for Gore, we might have a different history, and women might still have rights over their own bodies.

Be positive. Be supportive. But please, please don’t think she’s a shoe-in. Please don’t be one of those people who thought there was no way Trump could win in 2016. She has a hard climb ahead of her, and very little time.

      • I have hope. But hope doesn’t win elections. Money does. Volunteering does. Trying to convince people to get off their fat, lazy assess and go vote does. Trying to convince third party voters that this is not the way to get real change, and especially not now; trying to convince people that no, Harris and Donald are not identical and that, yes, their vote is critical does.

Positive thinking, or actualization, or whatever your (not you-you, the more general “you”) thing is, by itself, does nothing.
