    Don’t know why the person who wrote this chose that title, because it flies in the face of what the study he is trying to shit on actually said. Seems like the guy just has a bone to pick with the entire field of research.

    There are like 20 years of studies showing association between ASD and the body’s normal flora, the study in question just said “using stats, we can diagnose ASD from a stool sample alone with 91% accuracy”

      ASD can be diagnosed from the flora, but it’s not caused by it. That’d be like saying that hurricanes are caused by destroyed beach homes.

        Right, and the only mention of “ASD caused by gut microbiome” is in this guy’s op-ed, not the actual study he is panning, which just talks about using the stool samples for diagnosis.

        It’s more like if researcher A wrote a study said that “same building code violation found in 91% of beach house wreckages” and researcher B wrote an op-ed titled “Researcher A thinks destroyed beach homes actually CAUSE hurricanes”
