I’m not much of a baker, I made a few errors. Shredded instead of granular dessicated coconut being a big one. Turns out I used coconut flour instead of white, I found the label tucked away inside the jar. But there’s no unmixing stuff so I’ve got this batch of maybe carlos.
If that is true I take the mad scientist approach most of the time and make things up as I go. It usually gives a pretty good result. If you want something really specific or finicky (like a sponge cake) you need to be very precise about everything, but most baking is actually pretty forgiving once you’ve learned the basic techniques.
Ugly jamless Monte Carlos.
Monte Carlos dont have jam for they? I thought it was some sort of sticky sherbet?
Mostly butter/icing sugar according to the recipe.

Are they really meant to be Montes? 🥺 Doesn’t matter I’d still give them a go. Well done 👏

Baking is a science. I’m not a scientist. I applaud anyone who gives it a go. 👏

True but there’s still a part of me that goes I hope it works I hope it works I hope it works 🤞
Tried one. They’re tasty, but they’re a chewing commitment. Should have used more lemon zest too.
Looks good to me :)
I think they look better stacked up. The chewiness is stopping me from picking at them so maybe it’s a boon.
