Yes, it was incredibly short sighted of the neoliberal “free market” Capitalist agenda to conduct their “race to the bottom” by sending vital manufacturing overseas.

That combined with privatisation and globalisation (and lots of unchecked corporate espionage done by China) has given away sold every single technological advantage the western world had been developing since the Industrial Revolution.

Well it was incredibly short-sighted to do that only if they planned to remain jingoist and nationalist.

Literally nothing stopping us from collaborating rather than competing with China right now.

Except if you ignore China’s illegal imperialist actions in the South China sea, their constant threatening of Taiwanese lives, their systematic suppression of journalists and free speech, the extremely strict and HEAVILY biased access to their markets (yet they expect unrestricted access to American markets…), lack of respect for intellectual property laws, propping up north Korea, the continued support of Russias illegal war in Ukraine, etc…

Chinese people are incredibly hard working, smart, and I also genuinely want a world where we’re friends. Unfortunately China’s actions do not create an environment where this is possible. Perhaps they will also want to be friends and stop these actions. I guess we’ll see.

          Saudi Arabia literally did 9/11.

We clearly have the capacity to cooperate with nations if we choose to.

Oh yes, this extremely outdated patent law that is getting abused every day in the US by the so called patent trolls. Shall I remind you that many of the technological advancements you enjoy today are indeed manufactured in Asia?

Or shall I break your heart by saying that if they have stayed in your beloved US it would have been considerably more expensive? And you know it is not that the US has not a proven track record of spying on anyone including their own allies. So think about when you try to preach next time, who has the moral high ground.
