I’ve actually never seen the Exorcist nor the French Connection, but my mom used to be scared to hell and back by the former.
Just watched French Connection for the first time a few weeks ago. It starts off with the two cop protagonists chasing down a black man for leads, assaulting him, then commenting, “Never trust a n*****.”

gonna be a pedant here and point out that it’s not a remake of the 1953 film, they’re both adaptations of the same novel
