A friend and I love in depth games but want to include our families, some younger and some not super drawn to scifi or fantasy.
Pandemic has been a great game for us but its nice to have some other options.
Are there any interesting RPG (DnD style) or stategy games that you would suggest?
Root is not RPG but very much strategy - it’s a war game set in a forest where the competing factions are Cats, Birds, a rebel alliance of assorted critters and a solo Racoon. It is a fantastic game!
The cons would be - the rules are quite hard to pick up straight away and it’s 4 players only, so it depends how many of your family you want to involve.
Woah! Root looks like the type of game I was hoping to find out about. Thanks for the suggestion!
I would suggest camping out on https://www.boardgamegeek.com/ and seeing whether anything tickles your fancy in the suitable genre and weight category. Advanced search, or the genre-specific rankings are very helpful.
Many folks make geeklists that address questions such as yours as well.
Such a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
