    When last I considered a pixel device, the pace at which they obsoleted good kit was even more concerning than the terrarium setup they placed all their users in terms of surveillance and app lock-in; even worse than Apple, in some respects.

    While they’ll offer a repair service on some units, for what age? If you replace your phone after 2 years - you money-bags, you - and give your old one to your kid, who then shatters the face, will it be young enough to repair, still, or will the landfill still be the expected result? At some point that’ll be the case, and the question is, are we now okay with that cut-off?
