My boss approached me to tell me that they needed 3 people they trust to support them with a tax strategy and a new payment scheme.

To make a long story short, I’m a manager, and I’m paid ~6,000 per month on the payroll and ~3,000 in cash per month.

The issue is that they never pay me the cash on time, and this clever person came to tell me that they had a solution to ensure I get paid on time.

He told me there was a “scheme” for people who “didn’t want to deal with accounting,” and that like them, who have 5 million in cash that they urgently need to move, they proposed that I enter a program whose name I honestly don’t remember. Under this program, ~46,000 would be deposited into my account weekly, and I would only have to pay 5% in taxes (which they would cover). they suggested that every month, I would keep my 9,000, and we would use the rest from my account to pay for expenses.

I told them I needed to consult with my accountant because I didn’t quite understand, and they said I didn’t have to worry about ANYTHING, that his accountant (who, by the way, despises me because of what I earn, hahaha) would handle everything. they also mentioned that they already had the other two people on board (one from janitorial and the other from maintenance, whom they trust a lot because they’ve been working with them for 20 years). I’m not sure if I should feel offended because they are putting me in the same trusted category as them or if they think we’re all equally submissive idiots, hahahahaha.

What should I do?!

I’m not sure I understand what they’re proposing, but it sounds sketchy as fuck. Why would it need to be people they trust? What are they afraid of?

Given no other information, I would say absolutely not. Consult with your accountant if you can, and do not trust a word they say until you’ve cleared it with a professional.
