Sounding like the new patch is pretty buggy. I tried to play a game on level 7 difficulty and got a hard crash. We were trying to do the ore extraction mission on Tibit, the drop ships were insane, totally outnumbered until my game crashed. We’ll see what tomorrow brings, but we might be back to some peak time crashing on the servers. Hopefully a quick patch might happen in the morning.
I crashed 5 seconds into my first game and then at the drop screen on the second. I verified the files in steam and played for two hours with no issues. I have no idea if it’s just a coincidence but I thought I’d share for the sake of discussion.
What’s weird was I was watching Thor play helldivers and he was crashing a lot. He validated his game files on steam and 1 file failed to validate and was redownloaded. Today I crashed once and decided to validate as well and again, 1 file failed to validate. I think there’s a pattern there.
I also had 1 file that failed to validate but I haven’t had a chance to play yet to see if it fixed things.
There’s been a patch issued that might address this.
Hoping it plays ok later today (5pm ET), the patch notes call out the Acquisitions menu as the cause, that wasn’t the case for me. Feels like when too many enemies dropped in, divers start dropping one by one.
I crashed while extracting level 7, ran multiple level 4/5s without problem.
My hypothesis is that since EATs are free, the map is getting clogged with too many of them at higher level gameplay. Low level gameplay features like 1-2 hulks you need to call EATs for.
THIS 👆🏻 I just played a Medium, no issues, a bit of EAT spamming. Last night, EAT all over the shot and an abundance of enemies. I suspect at higher difficulty the game is struggling. Gonna stick to mid difficulty for a bit.
Perhaps it’s frustrating for those having issues to hear, but I ran two missions last night without issue. Hopefully it gets fixed for y’all soon and we can keep fighting the good fight.
No crashes for me, but my framerate was crap and it felt like there was a slight delay. Maybe there was no delay and it was just the framerate tricking my brain, but something was definitely off. Not unplayable, but definitely not an improvement for me.
Haven’t tried yet , but this happened to me last patch. Having Steam verify my installed files fixed the problem for me. It’s worth a shot.
Similar here. The most issues I’ve had were yesterday. Almost unplayable. :(
I’ve only ever had 1 or 2 hard crashes, but I get lots of “Connection lost/timeout”, sometimes 10 seconds in, sometimes just before extraction, or anytime inbetween. My Internet is solid and stable too (1.5Gbps on fiber)
I wish I had the option to just rejoin the same game.The game even continues to work while the timer runs out, including voice chat and everything so it’s like there’s another keepalive that will boot you out when it misses a beat that’s independent from the actual server where the gameplay happens.
Otherwise, new bug that’s happened to me twice since the patch… getting yeeted all the way accross the map for seemingly no reason.
First time, I stepped on a long dead rocketpods bot and ended up flying for a good 10+ seconds, and eventually landed out of bounds in a glitchy graphics place.
Luckily, deserters get executed/timed out, so I respawned after.Second time I was just going up a hill then got yote
back, flew for 4-5 seconds and almost died on the landing, got up, stimmed up, busted bots.Crashing or getting timed out just before extraction on a 30min run is more annoying than friendly fire.
