      How does me opening a 4 year old discussion on reddit encourage someone else to ooen a new one there.

      My behavior is the following: I type my research topic into a search engine, and open all related links to that topic until I find useful info. I prioritize non-shit websites (Wikipedia, lemmy, etc) but if I need info I will not willingly ignore a potential source. Unless I am required to log in somewhere, of course.

        Because they’ll know people still append “reddit” to search results.

        If people stop using a place, people will stop using a place.
