I had one of these as a kid, and they’re super cute terror machines. Also, on Bali and Java, they’re kept cooped up in cages, force fed coffee beans in order to make “Luwak” coffee, literally cat shit coffee, because years ago some coffee snob said it was great tasting. Despicable.
I agree. it’s mostly has fad value. Although I did not find it so bad but it’s not the best in the world either. Coffee had a bit of tangy taste along with bitterness of normal black coffee. Not keen on drinking it again.
The one I saw, although was in a cage, it was eating papaya so maybe they are fed variety of food not just coffee beans.

Oops, I misspoke I didn’t mean to imply they only eat coffee beans! Of course they eat a normal diet as well.
