Now is a good time to think about a small way you can help, even it it’s just making an effort to pick up some rubbish on a walk. For me, it’s winter and I start to feel a bit down from the lack of sunlight hours so i like to give myself a very small and achievable goal that can give me a little boost of serotonin. Between winter bugs, storms, and work things, I haven’t been getting outside enough. I want to make an effort to go walk the local reserves at least once next month and pick up rubbish. It’s small but it leaves me room to do even more if I’m feeling up to it without feeling guilty if I only have one good day of energy.

What small things are you wanting to do?

Great idea for a post. It’s summer for me and getting quite hot. I think I will try to go to the farmer’s market in my town tomorrow, even if I don’t buy anything.

That sounds lovely! I miss summer markets. I hope you find a few delicious things to take home tomorrow 😊

In the winter, take oral vitamin D drops on days you don’t expect to get 15 minutes of sun on bare skin. Same goes for the summer if you don’t get outside much.

In the summer I try and walk every day. A small change I’m trying to make is to make beans once a week.

I recently bought a trash picker and have been meaning to pick up trash at times when I’m already walking to somewhere - this post is a good motivation to actually bring it along next time. Thanks :)

I love having seasonal goals, but I’ve spent the past two weeks moving and am absolutely exhausted by the Big Thing, so I don’t want to commit to small stuff on top of it. Starting in August and going through the autumn, I’m going to focus on my social life in this new city though!

Moving can be super stressful. I think giving yourself some time to get settled then finding all the hidden gems in your city is a great idea
