If the church actually gave to the poor, they could write it off on their taxes. The fact that they are tax exempt means that these churches are taking advantage of the benefits of society while giving back nothing in return

This how its always have been… And that ain’t even the worst of in as many relious organization are fronts for abuse of children. And it seems there is jack shit society will do about it. They operate above the law across countries.

The more traditional, the creepier they.

Because when they aren’t preaching hate or defending their pedophiles or building their golden castles or fundraising to convert destitute people their book says to do nice things to other Christians.

No no no, THEY need money (as the late great George Carlin has said) but you gotta pray. How are they supposed to help people otherwise? Also, ignore that this charity garbage has allowed the rich to siphon tax money away. You HAVE to ignore that and think about the small church that’s helping people. Also ignore that statistically these people are probably exerting political influence amongst these people.

This one is only fair. They think they should be able to guide political policies and laws. Why should they not need to contribute to the upkeep of these systems?

If you tax churches then the state will be incentivized to perpetuate them. Separation of church and state exists for a reason.

Because we’re all god’s children so they’d have hella exemptions. /s
Thing is, he’s waaaaaay behind on child support and every last cent the church has should be garnished by the state.

Next time a Christian says “it’s not a religion, it’s a relationship” ask if that means their church shouldn’t get religious tax exemption.
