So would this be a good indicator for people that are not great about watering their houseplants?
Like oh the drama queen is fainting…guess I gotta water everything but the cactus and succulents.
Yes I use it exactly for that.
This generally works for most house plants, particularly the ivy-like ones.
I got a $5 soil moisture sensor (looks like a big thermometer) and it has been really great for this exact purpose. I know lazy people don’t want another step to a chore, but for those who don’t know when to water, it’s great
Not every plant needs the same amount of wet, though.
Post seems a bit dramatic; it’s wiki & other sources indicate that it’ll “faint” if it needs water, but make no mention of anything else causing the fainting. The leaves can get scorched if left in direct sunlight, though, and it isn’t fond of chilly temperatures.
I’ve had a few. They’re extremely dramatic.
I have a pink and a white in my Toad’s enclosure and they do fine, but yes, it’s typically water they get dramatic over. They’re right by a window and the enclosure does get down into the 50s quite often in the winter.
I will say the white is much more dramatic than the pink though.
I learned from experience that it cannot recover from cat nibbles
Just like my Sweet Basil. Damn thing wants to live in a swamp.
Swamps are pretty rad. If you’re a plant or a bug, anyway.
Or an ogre.
Nice swamp ogre… i think i’ll move in next door…
