You know in the movies where the hero says “it’s a million to one chance but it just might save us all”, and then the “logical” character says “this plan will never work, it would be more efficient to lay down and let the bad guys kill us all”?

Yeah, Hexbear users watched those movies and thought the “logical” character was right.

And it’s even dumber since the single case where climate change would have actually been a threat to human life was averted already. The CFC bans the world agreed to not only stopped the damage to the ozone layer, it also significantly lowered the curve for how high temperatures could rise over a given time frame, we were originally charter for 4-6 degrees celsius of rise by 2100.

The Doomers hate when you bring this up though because they want big change and to prove to their parents that it’s not just a phase and they can’t indulge that fantasy if they have to acknowledge that the neoliberal menace actually did something right and in a decently big way too.

Life is gonna suck because of what we fail to do, and every bit we fail to do is gonna make it suck even more, but I’d still take the worst outcome of that over everything between the tropic latitudes becoming a blast furnace while everyone who manages to escape that suffers every kind of skin cancer imaginable if they ever forget to put on their SPF ten million like we’re the fucking Necrontyr from 40k.
