i’ve been trying to find an alternative to goodreads for a long time, and among the requirements were a nice interface, a complete database of books, a social component (friends, recommendations, voting reviews…) and a spanish language. the latter is not fulfilled in this case, but time will tell. i recently tried storygraph and although it’s a good app in terms of functionality, there was something about the interface that didn’t quite convince me. then by pure chance i discovered Hardcover, which has everything i’m looking for (except the language) and also allows you to import your goodreads library. if you like this kind of apps you should give it a try.

first of all, sorry for the late reply. in answer to your question, i was using Goodreads for many years, so i know how non-evolutionary it has been. while apps UI are improving as new OS versions come out, i feel Goodreads has become stagnant, and its visual presentation has made me tired of it. i just think there are visually better apps, and Hardcover has the same features as Goodreads on top of that. it’s like it’s a vitaminised version of Goodreads.
