It seems like kbin is not synchronizing with other lemmys?
I was wondering if this is intentional, or some sort of bug.
Thanks
It might be a Kbin issue. I’ll have to look into it but the federation status between ani.social and kbin.social appears to be fine: https://phiresky.github.io/lemmy-federation-state/site?domain=ani.social
When I try it like this it seems to never finish? https://phiresky.github.io/lemmy-federation-state/site?domain=kbin.social
I assume that speaks more to the problem being on their end?
It might be or because of the software difference. Kbin.run also does not finish.
I’m on kbin.social and I saw this post on my homepage. Do you have any examples that you noticed that didn’t synchronized? Because at least comparing this magazine/community in kbin and in lemmy the same posts appear
Does the linked community show you more?
Oh my bad! I didn’t notice the link in the title.
Yes it looks like posts were not synchronized properly
Direct link to the problem magazine (Last post is from 3 months ago) Link in ani.social (There is no post)
We had a break in updates for the holidays but there should be a new update this week. Maybe that will solve it?Tagging @ernest so he knows about the problem
Hey, sorry if I’m being a bother but it appears that it’s still not syncing?
It’s not a bother, I don’t want to see another anime magazine disappear either.
I don’t know if we’ve had any updates lately. A couple of weeks ago Ernest said that he would have a medical procedure, so I don’t think he read this thread either.
I also saw that the owner of the magazine (or community) has been completely inactive for 7 months so there is no point in trying to communicate with them. So I applied to own/moderate the magazine and see if we can work it out. It’s strange that other magazines don’t have that problem. In the meantime I’m going to make a post to test.edit: I figured out how and made two test posts. They appear correctly to me in kbin.social and ani.social but I’m waiting for you to confirm it. If this is the case we can assume that the problem is with the old posts prior to all the updates on both sites
Hey,
I found another magazine with this problem.

I’m wondering if this sync issue is contributing to the death of these more niche groups?
Edit: I’m wondering if it’s possible to retroactively push a sync to get it all back in order?
Oh yeah, it definitely has a big effect. Especially since it’s not something you’ll notice easily if you don’t check the other instances.
And to your last question, I have no idea.
all good, I should of formatted it better. It does seem to be a curious problem.
I don’t have an answer for you, but I just wanted to jump in here and point out that this thread did federate over weirdly enough.
