Right, there is a fairly large body of philosophy which asks the question “when is violence justified?” and a big part of that is “don’t throw away lives recklessly for no purpose.” It doesn’t matter how “right” Hamas is, there is no realistic path by which violence can possibly achieve their goal of liberation. Their view of the world is warped by their religious views which hold that a god will intervene on their behalf if they martyr themselves piously. This is quite simply delusional and colors their role in justice seeking in a way many people refuse to acknowledge.
There is a simple path to ending this conflict, but it routes through a form of secularism which is not currently possible.

Didn’t the Palestinians try diplomacy for decades?
Yes. WHILE being robbed and killed. Shocking that the people willing and capable of doing that weren’t listening to diplomacy.
AFAIK it was always diplomacy mixed with a lot of violence. The situation there is a clusterfuck. Always have been.
