I don’t know how true this is, but the lore I heard is that Varg quit black metal because his nazi brainworms caused him to finally admit to himself it wasn’t an Aryan enough genre and he was just appropriating POC music, because black metal ultimately has its roots in the blues, which he internalized as making him not segregated enough.
