I see a lot of speculation and fearmongering in this article, but not a whole lot of facts about who operated this lab, what they were doing, and whether it was legal or illegal.
They answered the things you said in the article… the person who ran the lab was arrested in October. The operation was illegal.
Per the article, “for allegedly making false statements and misbranding medical devices”. It doesn’t say if that was in relation to this lab. In fact, given that the article says the lab was “busted” nearly a year ago, and his arrest was in October, I’m guessing it was not (though probably due to something related to the investigation into the lab). Like I said, this article is pretty heavy on the fearmongering and light on the facts.
