Is anyone else totally psyched to see two Lemmy apps finally out of TestFlight and available in the IOS app store??!! I downloaded Mlem and Memmy, and honestly feel like with these apps available there’s no reason not to switch to Lemmy. How do we spread the good word to Reddit users and bring some more folks over to the new and improved kingstonontario community?

Haven’t tried Mlem yet but Memmy is pretty awesome! And there are still more to come…

I think in terms of getting Reddit people over here, the best thing we can do at this point is to post a lot of interesting content? Give them a reason to be here.

Reddit was once the underdog to digg. I remember those days. You need people on the new platform punching above their weight for awhile. Like posting/commenting and not just lurking to get some energy going until you reach a kind of critical mass? I want !kingston_ontario to succeed so I’m doing what I can personally.

I mean what are we at now? Nearly 100 subscribers. That’s not too shabby for a community that’s only been around for a month.

Memmy is beautifully designed, but I like Mlem a lot too. I’m going to keep both for awhile and see which one wins out. I confess to being a Reddit lurker and the third party apps always allowed me a way to seek useful information on the platform while sending a minimal amount of data back to the company. After all the recent API drama, I realized that I have to practice what I preach and try to be more than a lurker on platforms that I genuinely feel are better for our world and protect our personal safety/agency as citizens of the net. 100 subscribers is amazing and I hope to continue to play my small part to help the community grow. I tip my hat to you!
