Title pretty much says it all, I’m just looking for games that you can build armies that fight each other like Totally Accurate Battle Simulator or something
If you are wanting a more hands on approach to the fighting there is the Mount and Blade games, with the newer one Mount and Blade 2 : Bannerlord. Essentially you start from nothing, join a kingdom (or start your own) and fight to conquer the map.
Mech Engineer is an autobattler that I really want to figure out but have no idea how it works.
Total War Rome II with one of the big mods.
The mods give it incredible detail and make the AI a bit smarter.
Total War Napoleon if you want musket warfare, worth it for the mortars alone.
