I’ve got a bit of a fixation on Metroidvania games right now so I’m hoping you guys can give me some recommendations of good ones I’ve not played yet, the ones I’ve finished so far are (at least the ones I can remember):

Hollow Knight

Guacamelee 1, 2 and STCE

Blasphemous 1 and 2

Salt and Sanctuary/Sacrifice

Ender Lillies: Quietus of the Knights

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

The Last Faith

Dead Cells (more of a rogue-like I guess)

Axiom Verge 1 and 2

The Messenger

F.I.S.T: Forged In Shadow Torch

Greak: Memories of Azur

Strider

Indivisible

These are mostly well known ones but are there lesser known ones that are really good? Let me know your favourites please!

I can heartily recommend Astalon: Tears of the Earth, it’s an underappreciated gem and a wonderful throwback for those of us who grew up in the NES era.

Record of Lodoss War-Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth, infernax, and souldiers are all fantastic takes on the genre.

Symphony of the Night + Rondo of Blood Castlevania collection. That’s where you should go next. It is often not that expensive, but I do forget the normal price. I think I got it on sale for $10 a ways back.

Symphony is incredible and is what inspired Bloodstained (and was made by the same creator as Bloodstained). The music fucking rips in that game. Secrets galore as well.

Castlevania Symphony of the Night on the original playstation is one of the games that pioneered the whole genre and it still holds up today

    La-Mulana, if you’re already battle-hardened.

I also heard good things about Deedlit in Wonderland, maybe that’s to your liking.
