I know this will probably get flagged b/c any public mention of race scares the shit out of people but I’m sure I’m not the only one that noticed that the majority of the Falcon fans seems to be Black. In the past, I felt like it was much more diverse (or majority white) but it seems as if non-Black Atlantans are rarely showing up to the Dirty Bird Nest. I know that today was the 50th year celebration of hip-hop but I been noticing how the fanbase has been changing for a while. To the non-Black fans, why do you feel the Falcon fanbase seems to be predominately Black? Is it b/c the culture of the gameday experience caters more to Black Americans than anyone else? And I know non-Black Atlantans love football as well because UGA football is king here … it’s almost a reverse of what I see at Falcon games … at UGA games I a sea of non-Black faces with speckles of Black faces in the crowd.

Been to plenty of Falcons game at the Benz and have seen tons of white fans there. I really don’t know what you’re trying to say here. In addition, the majority or minority race of our fanbase doesn’t matter at all to be quite honest.

Who gives a fuck what demographic likes a team or why? Our fanhood rubs all that societal bullshit away. We’re Falcons fans, that’s the only demographic that matters here. This reeks of “I’m not racist but…” Rethink this post and maybe go out and meet people that aren’t in your little clique. Might help answer some things for ya. Grow your mind and perspective a bit.

Oh wow you’re right. They are concerned about how many white people are at schools and football games. Such a weird thing to be concerned about.

White dude. Grew up in Atlanta.

Plenty of us around, but ATL is a very black city (and it’s awesome).

OP probably just ain’t invited to the cookout.

Weird post. My favorite thing about sports is that it doesn’t matter what’s your race, gender, or planet you’re from. If we love the same team we’re friends automatically. Rise up

I’m a Caucasian and a Falcon fan since 1968 and just don’t like watching a football game in person. I can’t afford good seats and wind up watching the jumbotron which is just another tv. I have a 75" color and my own beverage and snacks so why should I get involved with the hassle of driving, parking, etc. just to watch a bigger tv ?

At best OP wants more country music over the PA. I’m a middle aged white dude and I hate it, but sure, fine.

Churches are mostly segregated, but not a Falcons game. But one of the best things about the Falcons is the demographics of game day.

First time I went, a redneck looking white dude with braided chin beard rolled into the section and yelled up at a little black granny looking lady near us ”Miss Nancy how you doing today!?" and came up and hugged her neck and high 5ed. Felt good.

The only live sport that lookS MORE like the demographics of the Atlanta metro area is Atlanta United because it pulls more Latinos in.

If white people like OP want to live in segregated suburbs and live life thru the TV, I ain’t stopping them. I’ll be living life with real people in every shape and creed and color. I’ll get hype to Ludacris and to Travis Tritt and we’ll all yell fuck the saints together. Like God wants us to be.
