Kyle Pitts has been a topic of discussion this season mainly for his lack of significant production compared to his draft overall, his rookie season, other TE’s in general, etc. So my question to you guys is what do you think Pitts will end up being on the Falcons: do you think he’s falling short due to Arthur’s Smith awful play calling and the generally terrible offense or could Pitts end up being a bust? Or do you think the truth is somewhere in the middle?
Tony Gonzales, Antonio Gates, Travis Kelce, Shannon Sharpe. Just names off the top of my head that he would have to live up to in order to warrant a 4th overall selection. A TE at 4? I love Kyle Pitts, but what an absolute trash pick by our front office.
All of those players had slingers for QB’s lol we won’t really know what Pitts is capable of until we address the QB situation. Too early to call him trash.
Even with a solid QB, wouldn’t you rather have a Waddle, Smith, or Chase to throw to? Friermuth was selected 51 picks later (the next TE) and had noodle arm Big Ben and Pickett throwing to him…
He is by no means trash. The decision to select him at 4 however…
Gronk
Out of those guys only T Gonz was a 1st round pick. Just goes to show.
I never agreed with the pick. Picking a TE as 4th overall is just . . . stupid. I don’t care how much of a generational talent he is. You rarely even see WRs drafted in the top 5.
I thought we would have either nabbed a QB or traded back.
