Kyle Pitts has been a topic of discussion this season mainly for his lack of significant production compared to his draft overall, his rookie season, other TE’s in general, etc. So my question to you guys is what do you think Pitts will end up being on the Falcons: do you think he’s falling short due to Arthur’s Smith awful play calling and the generally terrible offense or could Pitts end up being a bust? Or do you think the truth is somewhere in the middle?
Downvote me all you want, Kyle Pitts is a terrible blocker - that completely erases that dimension of his game to defenders. The reason TEs like kittle and kelce are so good is because defenses need to respect their ability to block. It opens their games way up to make plays. Pitts fucking blows at blocking, so defenses don’t have to account for that nearly as much and it makes him more one dimensional. Pitts was a big time bust when we could have taken Chase or parsons
He was ineligible for best TE awards in college because he didn’t play the full position, idk why anyone would be suprised
If he makes big time catches and puts up crazy numbers we ignore it. When he doesn’t we cannot, and shouldn’t be surprised that he isn’t blocking like he should.
You say this like people didn’t know this when he was drafted. They knew and still drafted him 4th. And Pitts also had a 1000 yard season so anyone acting like he’s just completed erased from anything because of his inability to block is lying to themselves.
This offense is just idiotic and we refuse to use him. Point blank (no pun intended), so we should fucking trade him or actually design plays for him.
I think we should trade him asap, extend Jonnu, sign Higgins and a QB offseason and use our entire draft on the defense
