Developers thought a sprawling desert city near Los Angeles would bring tourists, retirees and middle-class families in search of a cheap paradise. Nobody came.
Its not third largest because its empty land, otherwise other neighboring cities like tehachapi and Tejon ranch would have it beat. They call it thurd largest because they have designated streets with names that have nobody living on it.
I don’t think this empty stretch of land would qualify as a city in any sensible definition. But sure third largest.
