Well. The article says you need strong military, strong economy and strong institutions to hold the empire up. The military has been proven to only be strong in numbers, not in actual power; economy has been weak before the invasion, is in complete shambles currently, only held up by massive intervention; and corruption has completely destroyed any efficacy of the government. Can’t conquer a nation without a way to uphold your order.
It does imply the fall of empire within putin’s lifetime.
