It’s good for a certain percentage of people, but only focusing on one topic, economy, most everyone I know is struggling to get by these days with the cost of everything going up constantly; except of course wages. Oh and there’s mass shootings constantly.

The article links to another article and identified it with the boy who was killed. He went on a one night crime spree brandishing a gun and carjacking two cars and assaulting another in a failed carjacking. It’s a crazy world.

Well it’s because gun stores in America sell nukes to fetuses without a background check because capitalism is bad.
It’s worth noting that DC largely had its gun problem under control until the supreme Court told them they weren’t allowed to enforce effective gun violence prevention laws.

We did some pretty fucked up things when I was a teenager and while our lives did suck, the risky choices and crime were from being young and stupid, not poverty.

Being in prison or the juvenile court system is rarely an improvement regardless of how much your life sucks.
For you maybe. There’s plenty of people in situations where having a place to sleep and food through the day would be a major improvement in their lives.
In the most unpleasant and desperate situations, sure. I’ve heard of homeless people who commit crimes to get somewhere safe to stay, which is obviously a sign we’ve failed many people as a society.
Imagine how many people have shitty lives and don’t carjack people at 12.
