I just triggered a side quest that starts with an anime scene in a BD. Should I watch Edgerunners before completing this quest? Does it matter?

Thanks.

The video doesn’t have any spoilers but the quest will have a bit more impact if you finish the show first. Also it’s awesome so well worth the watch.

It’s really just a nod to the main character in the anime.

I would recommend watching Edgerunners soon as it’s a damn good show, but I wouldn’t halt your playthrough for it.

I’d just play through it, then watch Edgerunners, and finally look up the Easter eggs related to the anime afterward.

I wouldn’t halt my game but I could just leave the quest on the back burner. Was planning on watching it at some point either way.

There isn’t much to the quest, and it can’t really be avoided. But it doesn’t really spoil the show.

Yeah, I ended up finishing it last night. I guess I was under the impression it would be more in depth. You don’t even really do anything.

No it does not. If you like crying can watch the show. The anime bd does not contain any spoilers really.

If I remember correctly, the BD is basically a repeat (from different angles and art style) as an early scene in Edgerunners about a cyberpsycho that isn’t really relevant to the plot.

I played through that quest and it was what got me to finally watch Edgerunners. I didn’t feel like anything was spoiled, other than knowing who would come out on top of one action scene.

Anime is great, watch it about midway through your playthrough for the best impact imo, you’ll understand the world at that point and get the most out of it.

Watching the show really adds to the immersion. You’ll see the same places from the show in the game. And get ready for the sadness. That show is extremely well written and they don’t hold back.

I would say edgerunners is a slice of life anime based in Night City. There are bunch of Easter eggs between the show and the game. You would be able to find locations in the game as you would see them in the show. You might be given more context about certain things about the Cyberpunk lore.

Sorry, can’t remember now. There is a marker down an alley that leads to the BD. Watching it shows an anime scene and starts the quest.
