The Allen key is what makes this so easy to assemble.

I think the intention was to make the top look as though the allen key is tilted towards you, but they stopped after the tip and didn’t quite succeed.
That’s it. You can see the tops of both screw ends. If it was laying like that, the top would probably be facing away.
