They actually considered a potential Robotech/Macross crossover with Exosquad. I do not think any scripts or anything were written. It would have been incredibly interesting though!

That would’ve been a weird crossover. I mean, I guess they’re both in a similar genre, but how would they even explain coming together in the same universe? Would it be all the same characters and just be some sort of dimension portal thing brings them together, or would they actually try to merge the stories together into something new? Definitely would’ve had some potential, though could’ve been just as messy.
