I don’t know whether the BBC geolocating Ukrainian forces and putting up maps is a great idea.

I mean, I’d like to know about progress too, but if the Ukrainian military wanted to put maps up, they could do so. The fact that they haven’t suggests that they feel that there’s good reason not to do so.

I don’t think that anything here is actually critical from a military standpoint – Russia probably has a pretty good idea of where front-line fighting is – but in general, I think that this is probably a good sort of thing to avoid.
