I like to think it’s not sarcastic. They wanted a computer as a toy or prop, and didn’t realize they could get a better deal on a fake one.

This shit has been around forever. I’ve been selling on my local classifieds for at least 15 years and these people have always been everywhere.

I tried to buy something on FB Marketplace, and asked about the current condition, how long the owner had had it, and when the item was last serviced.

The seller answered a week later: “I think 2 years” and that’s it.

I tried asking again and got a reply 4 days later saying “are you interested?”

It went on like this for almost 2 weeks before I gave up.

FB Marketplace is genuinely one of the worst experiences for buying & selling.

Had these guys all the time on Offerup. Tried selling my DS for $50 which was a reasonable price, in good condition too. And some jackass had the audacity to ask for $5. Even when I put firm price.

I just tell beggars like that to fuck off. Now I use FB Marketplace.
