I think they were hoping to make it a trilogy, if the first movie did well.
This makes a lot of sense. Though I’m wondering if the upcoming second movie will follow in some of the start of Messiah.
Maybe possibly several years from now after he makes Rendezvous with Rama. A third movie isn’t even in development yet. This is some mild click-bait “reporting” here.
Hopefully everybody will realize they were rooting for a Harkonnen all along.
