I was enjoying a brief respite in the hotel tea room, with my 96 new cats, when someplace a shamisen starts rocking out and suddenly fists start flying through the shoji on the karaoke stage. These three burst through and have the place thrashing in less than 30 seconds.
Then a sixty foot tall Tom Morello showed up.
I’m not normally a metal guy, but after managing to navigate the mosh pit with all 96 cats, I found myself grooving to this one. It’s an excellent example of what can be done with fusion of Western and Eastern music.
Lyrics:
Meta Ondo of Meta Village Festival
It’s a festival, it’s a festival, stop by
in a circle in a circle
Pihyala Let’s dance![Verse 2]
Metamura Niki-san and Neki-san too
It’s a festival, it’s a festival, stop by
in a circle in a circle
Let’s sing together![Pre-Chorus]
That’s it, that’s it, where are you!
A fool seen in a dancing fool
If you’re the same fool, you can’t dance
That’s it, that’s it, where are you!
If you don’t dance, you can’t sing
If you don’t sing, you’ll dance
Dance here, dance, dance
I can’t go home![Chorus]
Dance! Dance!
Dance! That’s it!
Shake it! Shake it!
That’s right! That’s right!
Sing! Sing!
Sing! That’s it!
Scream! Scream!
That’s right! That’s right!
