Campaign rallies are a defining feature of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s third run for the White House: all-day spectacles blending evangelical revivalist meeting and carnival, designed to deliver an emotional experience to his base.
Even if you don’t read the article, the pictures from the rally are pretty much exactly as you would expect. I’ve also had fever dreams that were less animated than some of these attendees.

Just living her best life spending her social security check to follow a snake oil salesman around the country. All while living off of gallon containers of potato salad. My god Fox News did a number on this country.
The wretched dolt won’t have to worry about spending her Social Security check once the orange mobster becomes dictator -he will end SSI because he will have no need for her dollars when he can tap the treasury.
Living off social security while railing against ‘socialism’
Literally the first word out of two of the name of the program - and still a hard disconnect
“Midjourney, draw me a photorealistic image of white grievance.”
This makes it sound like it’s the same bunch of crazies following him around. Anyone got pics of other rallies? Are the same faces present?
Stop calling them rallies, they are religious congregations
They are rallies like the nazi rallies, promoting hate and worship of a belligerent authoritarian who feeds into their fears.
That ended well.
In Trump’s third presidential campaign…
The third? So that would be, what, his 2012 or 2016 run? Because has been running or talking about running since the 1980s.
Reuters attended Trump’s Green Bay rally on April 2 and interviewed four dozen attendees who collectively liked going to the rallies, they said, because it felt like a community and they didn’t have to worry about being politically correct.
They mean that that they like it because they can use racial slurs without getting picked on for it.
The third? So that would be, what, his 2012 or 2016 run?
That’s the three they mean, right?
- 2016: Run #1
- 2020: Run #2
- 2024: Run #3
Or am I just celebrating too hard, too early today? 😆
He ran at least once before 2016. He’s been Putin’s useful idiot for at least 4 decades.
Ok yes he did technically run in 2 states in 2000, for 2 months:
In 2000, Trump ran in the California and Michigan primaries for nomination as the Reform Party candidate for the 2000 presidential election but withdrew from the race in February 2000. A July 1999 poll matching him against likely Republican nominee George W. Bush and likely Democratic nominee Al Goreshowed Trump with seven percent support.
But in 2011 he just talked about it without ever doing it:
In 2011, Trump speculated about running against President Barack Obama in the 2012 election, making his first speaking appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in February 2011 and giving speeches in early primary states. In May 2011, he announced he would not run. Trump’s presidential ambitions were generally not taken seriously at the time.
I’ll just leave this hear…
I would kind of like to go to one just to see it and take photos. Would you feel more sorrow, anger or confusion?
Probably a similar feeling of curiosity like when I visit a zoo. Except it would be a slightly morbid curiosity since these are people, and their vote counts the same as mine.
