Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin based on the fan-fave graphic novel is in the works with Tyler Burton Smith writing and Walter Hamada producing through his 18hz production company, as part of his multi-year deal with the studio. The movie will be the first R-rated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
I hate how all the big Turtle projects are being tied to the last ronin. Not a bad story but definitely not enough to justify leaving the traditional team behind for big budget games and an R rated movie in my opinion.
It’d be nice if Hollywood tried coming up with something new for a change. Feels like half of all movies are now reboots or sequels, or a part of some huge franchise. While eg reboots are definitely nothing new as a phenomenon, it just seems like they’re way more common now, but it’s not like I have statistics to back this up.
