people waiting for the bus need benches to sit on. benches are good, they’re a public good. the removal of benches from city streets by towns like Berkley and Oakland isn’t the cost of the benches, it isn’t even the maintenance of the benches, it’s the necessity of the city to prevent the homeless who use the benches as beds and camp around them which have seen them disappear and not be replaced, this article doesn’t make mention of that, and without that understanding on why they’ve been purposefully removed
