Hell, it didn’t exist until the late 19th century. It had been demonised, then it was pathologised through the first half of the 20th century.
Even your term “LGBTQI-like” tends to impose our thinking on it. They were who they were and they did what they did, and maybe things like honour, virtue, valour and status were more salient than sex and gender to them.@hugh@mastodon.nz
