This is the truth, all this marvel and star wars expanded universe shit is too much for the average person. I just want one show with new characters that I can get into, I don’t want to have to research lore, I research things in my field and that leaves little time for researching things that are supposed to be brain dead entertainment.
Imagine thinking a fucking Star Wars movie is too complicated lmao
Hey man this will help you understand Andor: The militaristic authoritarian government is the bad guy.
Wow dude I can barely see you up on that high horse, are you able to breathe? The oxygen must be thin.
Honestly I’ve watched episodes 4-9 and I liked 5 and 7 the most, I’m not a star wars fan, just a fan of watching good shows, and being able to just jump into a sci-fi show.
Your such a fucking elitist about literally a movie, I didn’t say it was complicated you asshole, I said I didn’t want to have to learn who a character is to enjoy a new television series. But yeah fuck the average guy for sharing his very relevant to this post opinion.
I’m not being elitist. It was a ridiculous post. Star Wars movies aren’t fuckin Inception or Momento. They’re goofy Space Fantasy with a lot of heart. You’re not solving a whodunit. The bad guys are literally designed to look like obvious bad guys. There’s never been some big big Keyser Soze reveal in a Star Wars movie or show.
Inception and momento has canon vs legends debates?
If you just want to casually watch the newest movie / show there is no reason to even acknowledge that legends exist.
No sane human being ever needs to be involved in those debates
Explain to me who ahsoka is using only context from the mainline movies… (I’m not counting the clone wars animated feature)
And you see my conundrum with investing in most post Disney Star Wars content
You only need to know Ahaoka from the Mandalorian, which she was just in, if you need to know anything at all.
The mean people with the other lightsabers will be the bad guys.
Ashoka is not in Andor, so you wouldn’t need to know about her
Whoosh!
It’s like pulling ears off a gundark…
As a huge star wars fan, I’m obsessed with all the releases, whether it’s caked in references or inside jokes. But I completely understand from an outsider’s POV, especially since Marvel does the same. It’s nice to have sprinkles of fan-service when you see a character from an animation in a hit show, it gets exciting. That being said, Andor was a breath of fresh air when it came to character development and story telling.
Part of what made Andor great is how much we see behind the scenes of the Empire. We get much more than just exposition for the sake of the main plot. We have entire arcs dedicated to some of their characters. Some of them are just following the rules because they’re believers, others are actively evil, and we get to see all that, much more than we did in previous stories.
